Reflecting Christ in Our Relationships

As Christians, we have the privilege of living lives that bear witness to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Once enemies, we are now friends through the sovereign grace of God. With such privilege comes the responsibility to live in obedience to the Lord’s will. When our conduct contradicts Christ’s work, we give a distorted picture of the beauty of the gospel; but when we love one another with His love, we send a powerful message. Jesus said, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another… By this all people will know that you are my disciples” (John 13:34–35).

Our relationships are precious yet fragile. Words or actions can wound and strain them deeply. How should we as Christians respond? We are called to offer genuine forgiveness, seeking restoration so that God is glorified and we grow in His grace. Ultimately, we are to display the same love God has demonstrated to us in Christ. So, we ought to spend time reflecting on how kind the Lord is to us and seek to apply that to those around us.
